Antibody Cross—Reactivity Testing
We support therapeutic antibody development through cross—reactivity testing in human tissue and other species (GLP & non—GLP). Regulatory work is carried out using the FDA, EMEA, and MAFF panels of normal tissues.
Our experience means we can also support immunotoxicity lymphocyte sub—group analysis, cell proliferation studies, and diagnostic research services, as well as target validation and clinical biomarker assays.
Cellular DNA and RNA Extraction Service
Isolation of intact human genetic material is a vital step for many molecular biology applications. We offer simple, high yield extraction of gDNA, total RNA, mRNA and miRNA from human tissues. Samples are sourced for you by Tissue Solutions, and DNA/RNA is delivered to you in short turnaround times. Extractions can be performed on the following:
- Tissue samples or biopsies
- Blood and bio—fluids
- FFPE samples
Histology and Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
We offer expert antibody and screening services in association with our collaborative partner, a specialist GLP accredited provider of IHC and contract histology services.

Plucked Hair Labelling
We provide a highly sensitive gene expression profiling service (qRT-PCR) to help develop robust non—invasive biomarkers that measure drug—induced changes in gene expression at the mRNA level from individual hairs plucked from patients undergoing specific drug regimes. This biomarker technology has the potential to provide valuable insights for decision—making in drug development; it provides an early indication of toxicity, allowing you to measure the effect of drug exposure on targeted signalling pathways and evaluate dosage and scheduling. Importantly, this proprietary cDNA amplification and labelling technology preserves initial mRNA relative abundance.
Establishment and Characterisation of Primary Cell Lines
We can establish and culture new primary cell lines derived from fresh human tissue, which opens up a wide range of possibilities in terms of the types of cell line we can provide using clinically relevant material:
We can provide cell lines:
- Established from both normal and diseased tissues e.g. cancers, COPD, RA, etc ;
- From single or multiple donors,
- With detailed clinical information relevant to that cell line.
Our extensive knowledge of primary cell culturing has led to the development and validation of specialised media formulations, significantly improving both the establishment process and the performance of the cells. We are also happy to tackle the isolation of so—called “difficult” cells.
Pancreatic Islet Studies
If you commonly outsource studies involving human pancreatic islets for the study of metabolic disorders or evaluating new drugs then we can help on a contract service basis. Batches of pancreatic islets are isolated from normal human donors, and we guarantee their quality and viability. They can be used in the study of:

Patient—Derived Tumour Xenograft Models
